Pensions & retirement

Plan for your future without leaving any gaps.

Old-age and survivors' insurance (AHV/AVS), 2nd and 3rd pillars, disability, death: we look at your pension provision as a whole to protect your loved ones and prepare for a worry-free retirement.

Why it matters

Very real situations.

Situation

You have worked part-time or taken a career break.

Consequence

Your 2nd pillar has gaps: a pension fund buy-in can fill them while reducing your taxes.

Situation

An illness leaves you unable to work for a long time.

Consequence

Disability pensions from the IV/AI (disability insurance) and your pension fund (BVG/LPP) only replace part of your income: without additional cover, your standard of living falls.

Situation

You are approaching retirement.

Consequence

Pension or lump sum, timing of withdrawals, tax: the decisions you make in the last few years have a lasting impact.

What we cover

The essentials, explained simply.

Review of the three pillars

We bring together your AHV/AVS, pension fund and 3rd pillar to measure your future income and any gaps.

Pension fund buy-in

Fill a gap in your 2nd pillar while deducting the amount from your taxable income, on a carefully planned schedule.

Bank or insurance pillar 3a

Flexible savings with a bank, or an insurance solution with death and disability cover: we choose according to your goals.

Retroactive 3a buy-in

Since 2026, years from 2025 onwards with no 3a contribution (or only a partial one) can be made up, going back up to ten years.

Incapacity to work

A pension or lump sum in the event of disability, on top of the IV/AI and BVG/LPP, to maintain your standard of living.

Protecting your loved ones

Lump-sum death benefit, a pension for your partner — including an unmarried partner, who is not always protected by default.

Pension or lump sum

An irreversible decision: we compare both options in light of your health, your tax situation and your plans.

Vested benefits

Forgotten assets, a change of job, moving abroad: we track down and consolidate your vested benefits accounts.

Points to watch

The mistakes we see most often.

  • 01

A buy-in followed too quickly by a withdrawal

Benefits resulting from a pension fund buy-in cannot be withdrawn as a lump sum for three years (Art. 79b of the Occupational Pensions Act, BVG/LPP). Otherwise, the tax deduction may be called into question.

  • 02

Withdrawing everything in the same year

Lump-sum withdrawals from the 2nd and 3rd pillars made in the same year are added together for tax purposes. Spreading them over several years can reduce the bill.

  • 03

    Forgetting an unmarried partner

An unmarried partner is not automatically entitled to survivors' benefits: you often need to register them with the pension fund.

  • 04

    Not using your 3rd pillar

In 2026, up to CHF 7'258 (with a 2nd pillar) or 20% of income, up to a maximum of CHF 36'288 (without a 2nd pillar), is deductible: every year left unused is a tax saving lost.
