Situation
You damage another car while manoeuvring.
Consequence
Your vehicle's liability insurance compensates the injured party. Without bonus protection, your premium may go up in the following years.
Vehicle insurance
Compulsory liability, partial or full casco, deductible, bonus protection: we compare the market to find the cover that suits your vehicle and the way you drive.
Why it matters
Situation
You damage another car while manoeuvring.
Consequence
Your vehicle's liability insurance compensates the injured party. Without bonus protection, your premium may go up in the following years.
Situation
Hail damages your bodywork in a car park.
Consequence
Only partial (or full) casco covers this kind of natural hazard damage.
Situation
Your leased car is damaged in an accident that was your fault.
Consequence
Without full casco — almost always required by the leasing company — you have to pay for the repairs yourself.
What we cover
Required to drive on public roads: it covers damage caused to third parties, at least CHF 5 million per incident (Ordinance on Vehicle Insurance, VVV/OAV).
Theft, fire, natural hazards (hail, flooding), glass breakage, collisions with animals, marten damage.
Everything partial casco covers, plus damage to your own vehicle in a collision that is your fault.
The amount you pay yourself per claim: the higher it is, the lower the premium. We set it to suit your budget.
A claim with no impact on your bonus level: particularly useful if you drive a lot.
Breakdown service, towing, replacement vehicle and repatriation, in Switzerland and abroad.
Additional cover for passengers, to be assessed in light of your accident insurance (UVG/LAA) and health insurance (KVG/LAMal).
Motorbikes, scooters, fast e-bikes: each vehicle has its own obligations and options.
Points to watch
Full casco you don't need — or don't have
On an older vehicle, full casco often costs more than it pays out. On a new or leased vehicle, it is essential.
Gross negligence
In the event of gross negligence (serious speeding, drink-driving, running a red light…), the insurer can take recourse against you or reduce its benefits. Some options limit this reduction.
A bonus that is not carried over
Bonus-malus systems differ from one insurer to another: switching insurer without checking that your bonus level is carried over can be costly.
Undeclared drivers
A young driver who regularly uses the vehicle must be declared; otherwise, a higher deductible may apply in the event of a claim.
